It is also called añuje, picure, carma, ñeque, guatín, sereque, cotuza, jochi, cherenga, guatuza and sihuayro.; Zerete is one of the common names of the rodent Dasyprocta punctata.; ZERETE in Mexico : is one of the species of dasyprocta, the Mexican, rodent of 26 to 46 cms. 2 to 3 kgs. called agutí prieto (black, in Portuguese) or Mexican guaqueque.
