Meaning of quetzalli

quetzalli: It is a woman's name used since time immemorial by native and currently mostly in Mexico. Its meaning is " the maiden who is adorned with the sacred feathers of the quetzal ".; quetzalli is incorrectly written, and should be written as "Means Quetzalli precious" being its meaning:
Quetzalli can also mean "Preciosa". . . they say it was also a goddess of the Nahuatl; Quetzalli is Nahuatl in origin. It is a name used by the Aztecs, whose meaning is "Which is adorned with the sacred feathers of the quetzal "; beautiful bird or birds of beautiful plumage; Nahuatl word meaning only rich pen. Quetzal, as noun applied to a climbing bird colorful plumage, "Trogon" family, genera Pharomachrus and Euptilotis and several species. The term is a shortened form of 'quetzaltótol'; «tótotl»: bird.
