PUPUSAS in El Salvador : thick corn or rice tortillas that are stuffed with cheese, chicharrón, atote or refried beans, or some combination of these ingredients. It can also be stuffed with cheese with parrot (El Salvador and Guatemala plant, whose flower is edible). Do not confuse with LOCRO, stew of pre-Hispanic origin.
