It is the name of an infectious disease that hits the face, especially on the lips (injury or orofacial gangrene). It is also called gangrene stomatitis or Cancrum oris. It destroys the tissues of the face, is very aggressive and results in death or serious and irreparable injuries to the face. It affects malnourished children.
