Meaning of mapuey

mapuey: It is one of the common names of a Caribbean plant, whose tubers are edible. It is also known by the names of yampí, yams white, slug yam, papañame and air potato. Its scientific name is Dioscorea trifida. belongs to the family Dioscoreaceae.; MAPUEY Dioscorácea plant typical of central and South America, which produces a potato-like edible tuber, very craving for its high nutritional value. 2 . Tuber of the same name. It is popularly known as yams. In Costa Rica it is known as air potato or papañame.
