In Colombia it is a state entity attached to the Ministry of Environment. It stands for Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies. It is responsible for the management of scientific information and statistics related to hydrology, climatology and meteorology. It also makes early warnings in those same aspects.
