Huruk, with h, is the name of a musical instrument of percussion of the family of membranophones or drums. It is elongated, with thin bases and high-pitched sound. It is also often called hurukka or hudukka. Uruk, without h, is the name of a city of ancient Mesopotamia located on the banks of the Euphrates River, in the area of marshy land.
