From the Greek hermokopides (Hermes, God of Commerce, thieves, the crossroads, Messenger of the gods and kopto, hitting, cut, mutilate: crippling of Hermes). Made scandalous that took place at the beginning of the month of targelion of the year 415 to. (d). (C). in Athens. All Hermes of the city, except of the Egeida tribe, were mutilated.
