Glycerin.
(Del gr. ????(e?, sweet, and -ina).
1. f. colorless, thick and sweet liquid, found in all fatty bodies as a basis for composition. It is widely used in perfumery and pharmacy, but above all to prepare nitroglycerin, dynamite base. Chemically it is an alcohol.
