Process of residential elitization or urban requalification by the progressive penetration into a neighborhood or urban area of people with a social status higher than that of the residents. This term has slept for some time at the door of the RAE, as its director Santiago Muñoz Machado says and finally they have opened the door as to many other words.
It is derived from the word English gentry or gentrification gentry meaning.
