It is one of the common names by which a medium-sized feline is known in Colombia. It is also known as yaguarundí, jaguarundi or moorish cat, jaju, ounce, lion or lion breñero, red cat, zonco cat, candingo, tigrillo, guina or eyrá. Its scientific name is Herpailurus yagouaroundi and belongs to the family Felidae.
