1º_ Faro, in Greek 9" 945; 961; 959; 962; (pharos), is a small island off the port of Alexandria (Egypt). The origin of the name has several versions, in some it comes from the old word 966; 945; 961; 959; 962; ( faaros "cloth, ship sail" ) and a confusion with the name 'pharaoh' (the ruler of the territory) when baptizing it; in others it is a tribute by Menelaus to the sailor who took him to Sparta along with Helena after the Trojan War, called 9" 945; 961; 959; 962; ( Pharos ) . 2º_ By the previous one, high construction with a powerful light at the top that serves as a guide to the ships during the night, to avoid pitfalls or indicate the entrance to a port.
