It is one of the common names of a plant whose fruits are edible. It is also known as ocra, molondrón,ñajú, belmosco, bamia, candia, gombo or quimbombo. Its scientific name is Abelmoschus esculentus and belongs to the family Malvaceae. In Colombia with its fruits we prepare soups, stews and salads.
