It is the name of a Venezuelan town in the State of Táchira. Chururi is also used. It is also synonymous with Andean flamingo, jututu, pink flamingo, parihuela, tococo, parine or parihuana, which are common names of Phoenicoparrus andinus, a zancuda bird of the family Phoenicopteridae.
