Mexico is one of the common names of the spiny lizard, I roño thorny, I roño or scaly lizard or poisonous lizard (actually it is not poisonous, this is a myth about his ugly appearance). Its scientific name is Sceloporus horridus and belongs to the family Phrynosomatidae. The chintete is an endemic lizard of Mexico.
