It is another way of calling the indigenous in Costa Rica. In Colombia we say indigenous or cucuyus in a class of insects bioluminescent beetles, which produce light as fireflies. they belong to the family Elateridae. They are also called bugs, saltapericos, cocubanos, taca-tacas, taguinches, copechis, achones, carbuncos. They belong to the genus Pyrophorus and the scientific name for the most common species is Pyrophorus noctilucus.
