It is a traditional Venezuelan dance with origins in the colony. It is also a jocular theatrical performance of popular roots in several regions of Venezuela. There are several forms depending on the region. One of the best known nuances is called guyanese burriquita.

Burriquita: One-man, humorous, folk dance touring with caracterísrica of comparsa which occurs in the celebration of Carnival. This dance, well-known in Cumaná, the East of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela city, is represented by a person who manipulates a frame with form of donkey very flirtatious, of various colors long skirt and lace. The dance begins with the accompaniment of cuatro, maraca drum, furruco, chorus and the song of the "Donkey ". The donkey dance to the beat of the music in such a way that this corcovea, kicks, rebuzna and says goodbye to some very rattling sounds gas.
