But the prefix bio wants to emphasize that they are derived from current animals and plants such as cane, herbaceous plants, woody materials and biomass in general. Its main benefit is the decrease of polluting material. Some biofuels are biodiesel, bioalcohols (bioethanol, biomethaneol, biobutanol), biogas, syngas, and solid biofuels, such as wood, charcoal, and sawdust.
