Alkmene or Alcmena was the name of heracles' mother or Hercules and her middle heman Ificles. According to Greek mythology she was a mortal woman and her name means "the power of the moon". Her husband was Host. Alkmene was the daughter of King Electron of Mycenae and Anaxo (or Anasaso). It's also the name of an asteroid.
