Another woman named Alcyone was one of the seven Pleiades, daughters of the titan Atlas and the sea nymph Pleyone. It is clarified that in Ancient Greece Alcyone was the name of several characters. In Astronomy it is the name of a star in the constellation Taurus (The Bull). It also receives the names of Alcyone, Alcyon, n Tauri, n Tau or 25 Tauri. It is also the brightest star in the Pleiades.
