Acrostic comes from a Greek word that alludes to the completion of a verse. The first meaning of the concept mentioned in the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), mentions the poem that, with the initial, intermediate or final letters of its verses, forms an expression or a word. Acrostic Acrostic (from Greek ákros : end , and stikhos : line or verse ) is a poetic or normal composition in which the initial, middle or final letters of each verse or sentence, read vertically, form a word or a locution. An acrostic is a poetry that has a 'hidden word' and in order to discover it, you have to read the text differently. This page is an automatic generator of poetry that at the same time, creates an acrostic, so that if you read vertically the first letter of each line of poetry, you will see the word 'hidden' that you have written on the form. The first acrostic is considered to be in a eulogy to Constantine the Great, composed by the poet Porphyry Optatian, in the fourth century. Later the genre was cultivated in the Italic peninsula, and in France, emerging the first acrostic in the Castilian language, during the thirteenth century, in which in the Code of the Seven Games, the first letter of each game, form the name of ALFONSO, reference to Alfonso X, the Wise, who wrote them. Currently, acrostics are considered as ingenious forms of entertainment, similar to crossword puzzles, sudoku and other creative thinking games; it is common to find them in magazines, weeklies, newspapers and pamphlets. According to historical inquiries about this practice, the acrostics were made, for the first time, by the hand of the Castilian poets. These transmitted their knowledge to the Provençal poets, (who at one time were considered the first) group that was responsible for making this style popular. From then on, it only took a little ingenuity and talent to make an acronym. Some artists preferred to place the letters that form the words at the beginning, others in the middle of the text and many more at the end; however, the predominant format was the first . It is known that, on some occasions, this was used to enrich the poem or, well, leave some additional messages. Throughout history, a considerable amount of popular acronyms have emerged, such as "El bachiller", which can be read in the prologue of "La celestina", a novel by Fernando de Rojas, titled in that way because it is the phrase that produces with the first letters of the poem. Luis Tovar also has one of these precious pieces: a poem whose purpose was to spell "Francisca", but ends in "Francyna", and resolves to include, in the midst of creation, other names such as Eloísa, Ana, Guiomar, Leonor, Blanca, Isabel, Elena and María.
