The word salu, used today in the savior as an expression to say goodbye, has its origin in the expression Health, which is normally used as a toast and originates from Latin salutis, the word Salu as most expressions popular ones is an onomatopoeia and originated from neighboring countries such as Guatemala and Honduras at the end of the 19th century when during diplomatic banquets it was common for representatives of neighboring countries to say goodbye just after the toast being the word "Health" the last expression used before leaving, over time this expression migrated and evolved to the expression Salu.
