It is a Zapotec word which means "The first daughter of the Earth". One of the few cities and capitals of the Mixteco-zapotecas Indians, who inhabited found is Spaniards upon arrival. It is the name of an archaeological site and a central Valley in the State of Oaxaca. Today it is a village in the municipality of Villa de Zaachila in the State of Oaxaca (Mexico).
